Milo and I love filming so we have decided to make some small movies along our trip. The first one is from Vilanova i la Geltrú. We hope you like it.
If you want to know in more detail about the places we like you can read our "script" for the movie.

Welcome to Vilanova i la Geltrú! A beautiful coastal town about 50 km South of Barcelona. For the last few days we have been discovering some great things to do here as a family. We will share our tips to you.

One of the highlights has been the kid friendly beach. The main beach is fantastic for children, because the water is very shallow and deepens slowly so it is perfect for kids to play and to learn how to swim.

Beside bathing at the beach we had a great time searching for sea shells, hanging around the bull statue and to exploring the human artwork at the end of the beach.

Now in low season our dog Ronja also could join the family at the beach. It is just missing a spot on the beach to have dogs during the peak season.

One of Vilanovas three beaches offers a spot to run around naked even as an adult. It lays at the end of the beach, Sant Gervasi.

Beside the beach Vilanova offers a great Rambla through town. Here you find shops, cafes, kid rides and churros. And do we love churros! Don’t forget the hot chocolate to dip them in. Just delicious!

One cafe at the Rambla has a treat for the kids. In its backyard it has a pool with water turtles that are so fun to look at. A perfect distraction while the parents having a coffee.

Beside the turtle place we have found some other great places where the kids can play at a playground while the parents can enjoy a coffee.

  • Plaza de la Mediterranean
  • Plaza Charlie Rivel
  • Tsunami Beach (name of the bar/cafe). It lays at the beginning of the beach next to the marina.

When it is time to find food to bring as a picknick at the beach or at one of the nice parks we can recommend to go to one of the many bakeries and get a tuna empanada and small croissant with ham and cheese. Try the great bakery Enrich on Av. de Francesc Macià, number 1.

Or go to the Central Market and splurge in all the goodies you can find there. Don’t forget to try the Xato that is famous for Vilanova. It is great to have on a sallad or just on bread.

If you like markets then be here on a Saturday when the outdoor market is taking place at the Central Market.

One of the favourite things for Milo in Vilanova is the Pirate ship. A playground close to the tourist information centre. He also loves the little train that runs on Sundays. It is just next to the beach, opposite Torre Blava.

Ok, over and out from Vilanova. We hope you will like Vilanova i la Geltrú.

Cheers,
Milo and Anna
